Just a Couple of Pictures

Enough with all the talking around here!  Here are two pictures I found on my camera card.  Thought I'd share :)
Matthew's reaction to the OSU hat that Santa brought him this year.  I think he likes it.

I caught ALL FOUR BABIES sitting quietly together, with no hitting/biting/yelling/tattling the  other night.  Such a rare occasion that it had to be documented.  (Ben was focused on the computer before I started taking pictures).

Thats all for now.  Happy Thursday!

Sunday Bullets

As it is one of the last football Sundays left, most of the Schroeder family is glued to the television…Matthew is wants New England to win, Caitlin is going for Baltimore, Daddy is rooting for Eli and the Giants and the babies are busy running interference (i.e. running between the watchers and the television.)  This means that I have a few minutes to do a few quick bullets:

  • Matthew’s birthday is quickly approaching…he’s going to be EIGHT!  For his party this year he wants to do a spend-the-night with a few friends.  We did a test run this past weekend and I think it’s going to go well…the boys seem to get along well.  But I still want y’all to pray for me!
  • Caitlin and Matthew had a big accomplishment today…they ran three miles!!  They have been after me to up the distance with them, but in the end it was Matt who took them (after running his own 6.7 miles!).  They continue to paint stripes under their eyes (like lil’ warriors) before they go.  I’m certain it helps them run faster.
  • Speaking of running, I have committed to running a half marathon in April…here’s the link.  I have been slowly increasing the amount I run each week…today I got up to seven miles.  It took me 74 minutes…obviously not going to WIN any races, but I am so excited about this.  Matt is training with me, but is hesitant to participate in the race because it’s billed as a women’s race.  I’m really hoping that I can convince him to suck it up, buy a wig and go with me.
  • Hannah had her first playdate with her best friend from preschool…she was SO EXCITED.  When I told her about it I got the biggest hug.  The little girls family lives on a few acres and during the visit I got an update on how it was going in the form of a picture.  Of my daughter in a harness swinging over a lake.  “She was just like Tinkerbell!” the mom told me…I just about died laughing…Redneck Tinkerbell I guess lol.  But Hannah had a great time and the family is so sweet…I can’t wait to get the girls together again.
  • Ben continues to be very firmly two.  But in spite of all the two year old behavior that kid totally has me wrapped around his tiny lil’ finger.  He knows just the right moment to bust out with, 'mommy, I WUV ju!” (usually just after he has hurled a toy at my head.  Which happens a lot).  I hear that phrase, or feel his arms around my neck (he just learned to give a big boy hug) and I just melt.  Lil’ stinker.
  • Last weekend we got together with lots of the cousins…Will, Sarah, Luke, David, Delaney and Richard met us at Grandma’s house and you’ve never seen so much cuteness in one house!  Growing up in a big family certainly has it perks!!  The kids had so much fun playing together…Matt and I barely saw Hannah and Sarah who were attached at the hip, and all the little boys had so much fun throwing the frisbee.  And the big boys had a lot of fun retrieving it from the roof.  With a garden hose.  Brilliant.  I guess the only bad part was that Gus and Elizabeth’s kids couldn’t be there…maybe next time!!
  • Soccer and baseball are about to start up again..I am actually looking forward to sports!  Last year was so much fun for us and I’m hoping that this one is as fun.

The natives are getting restless, so I’m gonna scoot.  Hope y’all have a great week!
